The MikroTik netPower Lite 8P (CSS610-8P-2S+OUT) solves one of the most common problems in outdoor and remote networking: keeping PoE devices online when the power goes out. By integrating a UPS controller and smart battery charger directly into a rugged outdoor switch, MikroTik eliminates the need for a separate UPS unit — reducing cost, cabling complexity, and failure points.
Connect any external 24V nominal battery — typically two 12V units in series — and the switch becomes a seamless UPS. During a power outage, connected PoE devices continue operating without any interruption or reconfiguration. When power is limited, the switch intelligently prioritizes PoE output first and slows battery charging second, ensuring cameras and access points stay online as long as possible.
The smart charger supports flooded, AGM, gel-based lead-acid batteries, and LiFePO₄ packs with proper BMS — charging from 0.2 A to 1.6 A across a voltage range of 20–31.7V. A three-stage charging process and an included temperature sensor fine-tune charging voltage for lead-acid batteries and block charging outside safe temperature ranges, extending battery life significantly.
