Supporting both RouterOS v7 and SwitchOS (dual boot), it is capable of light routing tasks in addition to switching, making it a versatile solution for building outdoor optical 10G networks — particularly suited for connections exceeding 100 metres where maintaining data rates is essential. It ships as a complete kit with a PoE injector, power adapter, and mounting hardware.

The MikroTik netFiber 9 (CRS310-1G-5S-4S+OUT) is an outdoor-grade fibre switch purpose-built for deployments where long-distance fibre links and high data rates are required. It delivers 5 × SFP ports for standard fibre connections and 4 × SFP+ ports for 10 Gigabit fibre or DAC connections, alongside a single 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port for local wired connectivity or management. A serial console port (RJ45) is also available for out-of-band management.
The device is built around the Marvell 98DX226S chip, which serves as both the CPU (ARM 32-bit, 800 MHz) and the switch chip — a highly integrated design that keeps power consumption low while delivering capable performance. With 256 MB of RAM and 16 MB of FLASH storage, it supports both RouterOS v7 and SwitchOS, allowing operators to choose between the full RouterOS feature set (including light routing capabilities) or the streamlined SwitchOS switching interface. RouterOS v7 and SwitchOS are pre-installed and licensed — no separate purchase required.
The sturdy IP54-rated enclosure provides protection against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for outdoor installation in demanding environments. Passive cooling eliminates any need for fans, ensuring silent, maintenance-free operation. The wide tested operating range of -40°C to 70°C makes it viable for a broad range of climates. CPU temperature and voltage monitoring are included for hardware health visibility.
Power is accepted via PoE-in (802.3af/at, 18–57 V) or DC jack (18–57 V), with maximum consumption of 17 W (10 W without attachments). The kit ships with a 48V 0.95A power adapter, Gigabit PoE injector, K-66 fastening set, and hose clamp for pole mounting.
