The MikroTik XQ+31LC02D is a 100 Gigabit QSFP28 optical transceiver module designed for single-mode fibre links of up to 2 kilometres. It uses the CWDM4 (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) architecture, transmitting across four separate wavelengths — 1271 nm, 1291 nm, 1311 nm, and 1331 nm — over a standard Dual LC UPC connector, making it compatible with widely available OS2 single-mode fibre patch cables. The XQ+31LC02D is well suited for inter-building, campus, or data centre interconnects where DAC cables or short-reach multimode optics cannot cover the required distance, and is compatible with MikroTik's QSFP28-equipped core switches and routers including the CCR2216, CRS504, CRS518, CRS510, and CRS520.

The XQ+31LC02D is a QSFP28-form-factor optical transceiver that brings 100 Gigabit connectivity to longer-reach single-mode fibre deployments. Operating over the CWDM4 standard, the module multiplexes four 25G lanes across four distinct wavelengths — 1271 nm, 1291 nm, 1311 nm, and 1331 nm — carried simultaneously over a single pair of single-mode fibres via a Dual LC UPC connector. This approach allows full 100 Gbps aggregate throughput over standard OS2 SMF infrastructure at distances up to 2 km, well beyond the reach of SR4 multimode optics or direct attach copper cables.
The CWDM4 standard and the Dual LC UPC interface make the XQ+31LC02D highly practical in real-world fibre plant environments. Because it uses the same LC duplex connector found on the vast majority of single-mode patch panels and trunk cables, it integrates seamlessly into existing structured cabling without requiring MPO fanout assemblies or specialised cable types. This makes it an excellent choice for connecting equipment across multiple floors of a building, between two nearby buildings, or across a campus where single-mode fibre is already installed.
Compatible MikroTik host devices include the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ router, the CRS504-4XQ-IN and CRS504-4XQ-OUT switches, the CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM, the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN, and the CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM. The module carries an MTBF of approximately 200,000 hours at 25 °C — the highest MTBF rating in MikroTik's QSFP28 optics lineup.
