The MikroTik XQ+DA0001 is a 1-metre passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) twinax cable with QSFP+ to QSFP+ and QSFP28 to QSFP28 connectors, supporting both 40 Gigabit and 100 Gigabit data rates. Designed for direct short-reach interconnects between QSFP28-equipped MikroTik devices — including the CCR2216, CRS504, CRS518, CRS510, and CRS520 — it offers a plug-and-play, zero-latency alternative to fibre transceivers and patch cables for within-cabinet or same-rack connections. The XQ+DA0001 is the compact, same-rack variant in MikroTik's QSFP28 DAC cable range, providing 1 metre of passive twinax copper connectivity at 40G or 100G. DAC cables integrate the transceiver electronics directly into the cable assembly, removing the need for discrete optical modules and associated fibre cabling — making them the most cost-effective and simplest solution for any short-reach 40G or 100G link within a rack or between adjacent cabinets.
The cable supports both QSFP+ (40G) and QSFP28 (100G) form factors at each end, allowing it to connect two QSFP28 devices at 100G, two QSFP+ devices at 40G, or — where host hardware supports it — a QSFP+ port to a QSFP28 port at the appropriate negotiated speed. The integrated connectors are compatible with MikroTik's full range of QSFP28-equipped platforms, including the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ router, the CRS504-4XQ-IN and CRS504-4XQ-OUT switches, the CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM, the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN, the CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM, and the CRS326-24S+2Q+RM.
Being a passive copper cable, the XQ+DA0001 requires no power, produces no heat, and introduces no optical alignment or transceiver compatibility considerations. The 1-metre length is best suited for connecting devices installed immediately next to each other — such as a core router and a 100G switch sharing the same rack — keeping cabling clean and minimising slack. The MTBF is approximately 100,000 hours at 25 °C.
