The MikroTik XQ+DA0003 is a 3-metre passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) twinax cable with QSFP+ to QSFP+ and QSFP28 to QSFP28 connectors, supporting both 40 Gigabit and 100 Gigabit data rates. It is designed for direct short-reach interconnects between QSFP28-equipped MikroTik devices such as the CCR2216, CRS504, CRS518, CRS510, and CRS520, offering a latency-free, plug-and-play alternative to optical transceivers and fibre patch cables for rack-to-rack or within-cabinet connections. The 3-metre length provides enough reach to comfortably span adjacent rack units or nearby racks while keeping cable management tidy and installations clean.

The XQ+DA0003 is the longer variant in MikroTik's QSFP28 DAC cable range, extending the reach to 3 metres while maintaining the same passive twinax copper construction. DAC cables integrate the transceiver functionality directly into the cable assembly, eliminating the need for separate optical modules and the associated fibre patch cords — a practical and cost-effective solution for any short-reach 40G or 100G interconnect within a data centre or server room.
The cable supports both QSFP+ (40G) and QSFP28 (100G) form factors at each end, which means it can connect two QSFP+ devices at 40G, two QSFP28 devices at 100G, or (where supported by host hardware) a QSFP+ port to a QSFP28 port at the appropriate negotiated rate. The integrated connectors are keyed for compatibility across MikroTik's full range of QSFP28-capable hardware, including the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ router, the CRS504-4XQ-IN and CRS504-4XQ-OUT switches, the CRS518-16XS-2XQ-RM, the CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN, the CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM, and the CRS326-24S+2Q+RM.
As a passive copper cable, the XQ+DA0003 generates no heat, draws no power, requires no optical alignment, and introduces no additional latency beyond what the cable length itself represents — all advantages in dense switching environments. The 3-metre length is particularly suited to connecting devices in adjacent rack units or across a short run between two racks sitting side by side. The MTBF is approximately 100,000 hours at 25 °C.
