MikroTik hEX Refresh 5-Port Gigabit Router ARM
The MikroTik hEX refresh is a refreshed iteration of MikroTik's popular hEX router, delivering significantly improved performance at the same accessible price point. Powered by a dual-core ARM processor and upgraded to 512 MB of RAM, it offers performance gains of up to 100–134% compared to its predecessor. With 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, a USB port, passive PoE input, and RouterOS v7, the hEX refresh is an excellent choice for home users, small businesses, and network professionals looking for capable, cost-effective wired routing.

The MikroTik hEX refresh builds on the trusted hEX platform with a meaningful hardware upgrade, replacing the previous CPU with a dual-core ARM EN7562CT processor running at 950 MHz, and doubling the RAM from 256 MB to 512 MB. The result is a performance increase of up to 100–134% depending on configuration, making it one of the most capable routers available at this price point.
The device provides 5 x 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports, giving it the connectivity needed for a small to medium wired network. A USB Type-A port with USB Power Reset functionality adds further flexibility for storage, modem, or other USB device connectivity. The EN7523 switch chip handles hardware-accelerated Ethernet switching.
Power is supplied via a DC jack or Passive PoE input, both accepting 12–28 V. The device draws just 4 W without attachments and up to 10 W under full load, and uses entirely passive cooling for silent, maintenance-free operation.
RouterOS v7 comes pre-installed and licensed — no separate purchase is required. The full suite of RouterOS features is available, including IPsec VPN with hardware acceleration (supporting AES-128 and AES-256 with SHA1/SHA256), advanced routing, firewall, QoS, and much more. Hardware health monitoring includes CPU temperature, PCB temperature, and voltage monitoring. A mode button is also provided for convenient configuration reset or other configurable functions.
The device measures 113 × 89 × 28 mm and is tested for operation from -40°C to 70°C. It includes a 24V 0.38A power adapter.
