MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+WiFi Wi-Fi 6 Rackmount Switch
The MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-RM is the Wi-Fi edition of the proven CRS418 rackmount platform — adding 4×4 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi 6 to an already powerful 1U switch. It combines 16× Gigabit Ethernet ports (8 with 802.3af/at PoE-out), a dedicated Gigabit management port, 2× 10G SFP+ uplinks, a quad-core 2.2 GHz ARM64 CPU with L3 hardware offloading, 1 GB RAM, dual redundant AC power supplies, USB 3.0, and RouterOS v7 License Level 5 — all at USD 499. Eliminate the separate access point, the separate router, and the separate firewall, and replace them with one clean 1U device that does it all.

The MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-RM is the answer to the perennial server room problem: too many boxes, too many cables, too many points of failure. This is a single 1U rackmount device that handles switching, routing, PoE distribution, 10G fiber uplinks, Wi-Fi 6 coverage, USB storage, firewall duties, and CAPsMAN wireless control — simultaneously, without subscriptions, and without breaking the budget.
The 4×4 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi 6 radio is MikroTik's strongest to date in a rackmount form factor — 1,148 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 2,400 Mbps at 5 GHz. MikroTik engineered dedicated pigtail holes in the rear panel so external antennas can be routed outside the rack enclosure — solving the coverage problem that has always made rack-mounted wireless impractical.
The quad-core IPQ-8072A ARM64 CPU at 2.2 GHz, paired with 1 GB RAM and the 98DX226S switch chip with L3 hardware offloading, delivers enough processing power to run as an internet gateway, full firewall, VLAN router, and CAPsMAN controller simultaneously — replacing what would typically require three or four separate devices.
Key features:
- 4×4 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi 6 — 1,148 Mbps at 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n/ax, QCN-5024, 5 dBi) + 2,400 Mbps at 5 GHz (802.11a/n/ac/ax, QCN-5054, 6 dBi)
- Dedicated pigtail holes in rear panel — route external antennas outside the rack for real-world coverage
- 16× 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports + 1× dedicated Gigabit management port with direct CPU line (17 total)
- 8× PoE-out ports (Ether9–Ether16) — 802.3af/at, 150W total PoE budget, low-voltage limit 1.1A / high-voltage limit 0.56A
- 2× 10G SFP+ uplink cages — fiber ISP hand-off, core switch uplinks, high-speed NAS
- L3 hardware offloading — wire-speed routing between VLANs without CPU overhead
- Quad-core IPQ-8072A ARM 64-bit CPU, 2,208 MHz, 1 GB RAM, 128 MB NAND
- 98DX226S switch chip
- Dual redundant AC power inputs (100–240V, 50–60 Hz) — hot-swap capable, 2 PSU slots
- 1× USB 3.0 Type-A port (up to 1A) with USB Power Reset — storage, backups, configuration
- RJ45 serial console port for out-of-band management
- 4-fan active cooling, -20°C to +70°C, MTBF ~200,000 hours at 25°C
- Max power consumption 227W (43W without attachments)
- CPU temperature, PCB temperature, current, and voltage monitoring
- RouterOS v7, License Level 5 — VLANs, ACLs, SNMP, firewall, CAPsMAN, traffic shaping, advanced monitoring — no subscriptions, no paywalls
- Certified CE, FCC, IC, EAC, RoHS | IP20
In the box: IEC cord (×2), K-100 fastening set.
Ideal for: small and medium offices consolidating switching, routing, PoE, and Wi-Fi into a single 1U device; server rooms and network closets replacing a stack of separate appliances; WISPs and ISPs needing a CAPsMAN controller with built-in switching; homelabs and network labs; and any deployment where budget, rack space, and cable hygiene all matter at the same time.
