MikroTik Audience Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 AC2900
The MikroTik Audience is a tri-band indoor home access point with built-in mesh (CAPsMAN) support, combining one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz radios for a combined AC2900 wireless throughput. The second 5 GHz radio uses a dedicated Qualcomm QCA9984 four-chain chipset delivering up to 1733 Mbps, while the first 5 GHz radio (up to 867 Mbps, two chains) and the 2.4 GHz radio (up to 300 Mbps, two chains) handle client connections and interference avoidance in congested wireless environments. Built on the Qualcomm IPQ-4019 quad-core ARM CPU with 256 MB of RAM, it features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, runs RouterOS with a Level 4 licence, and supports passive PoE-in and DC jack powering.

The Audience (RBD25G-5HPacQD2HPnD) takes a tri-band approach to home networking that sets it apart from standard dual-band routers. Three independent radios work together: a 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) radio with two chains delivers up to 300 Mbps using the IPQ-4019 chip; a first 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac (Wi-Fi 5) radio with two chains delivers up to 867 Mbps, also on the IPQ-4019; and a second, more powerful 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac (Wi-Fi 5) radio with four chains delivers up to 1733 Mbps via the dedicated Qualcomm QCA9984 chipset. All antennas deliver 3.5 dBi (2.4 GHz) and 4.5 dBi (5 GHz) of gain. The combined AC2900 rating reflects the aggregate of all three radios.
The tri-band design unlocks a key advantage for mesh deployments: the high-capacity second 5 GHz radio can be dedicated as a wireless backhaul channel between Audience units, while the 2.4 GHz and first 5 GHz radios serve client devices. This separation prevents the backhaul traffic from halving available client bandwidth — a common limitation of dual-band mesh systems. Multiple Audience units can be placed throughout a home or office and linked via MikroTik's CAPsMAN wireless management framework to form a seamless, centrally managed mesh network.
The processing platform is the Qualcomm IPQ-4019 quad-core ARM 32-bit CPU running at 448–896 MHz (auto), paired with 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of NAND flash. RouterOS is preinstalled with a Level 4 licence. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports handle WAN and LAN wired connectivity. Powering options include a DC jack (12–57 V) or passive PoE-in (24–57 V), with a maximum power consumption of 27 W. Cooling is passive throughout. IP20 rated for indoor use, tested from -40 °C to 60 °C. Certifications include CE, FCC, IC, EAC, and RoHS.
The Audience ships with a 24 V 1.5 A power adapter and an Ethernet cable.
