The MikroTik wAP LR8G Kit is a compact, weatherproof outdoor LoRa® gateway combining 868 MHz LoRa® connectivity, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, an integrated GPS chip, and a 10/100 Ethernet port in a durable, IP54-rated enclosure. Running RouterOS v7 and compatible with The Things Network, it is designed for easy deployment of wide-area IoT networks in demanding outdoor environments. The kit includes everything needed to get started, including a PoE injector, power adapter, mounting hardware, and an automotive power adapter cable.

The MikroTik wAP LR8G Kit is a complete outdoor LoRa® gateway solution built around the RBwAPR-2nD and R11e-LR8G miniPCIe card. It delivers 868 MHz LoRa® connectivity with enhanced receive sensitivity for effective long-range communication, making it well suited for wide-area IoT deployments covering smart agriculture, environmental monitoring, asset tracking, smart city infrastructure, and similar applications.

The unit pairs LoRa® with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 interface (802.11b/g/n, up to 300 Mbit/s) and a 10/100 Ethernet port, providing flexible backhaul and management connectivity options. An integrated GPS chip with a uUFL connector enables location-aware applications, and the device also includes a Mini SIM slot that can be used if the LoRa® interface card is replaced with an LTE modem card. PCB temperature and voltage monitoring are built in for added reliability in the field.

The enclosure carries an IP54 rating and has been tested across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 60°C, making it suitable for harsh outdoor environments. Passive cooling and a compact form factor make installation straightforward. The device supports three input power options — DC jack, Passive PoE (both 9–30 V), and an automotive input (12–30 V) — giving it versatility across fixed and vehicle-mounted installations.

Powered by RouterOS v7 on a QCA9531 MIPSBE processor running at 650 MHz with 64 MB RAM and 16 MB FLASH storage, the wAP LR8G Kit is a capable and lightweight gateway platform. The operating system is pre-installed and licensed — no separate purchase is required.

The device is fully compatible with The Things Network, the widely-used open-source LoRa® infrastructure that provides free network coverage and a rich application ecosystem, with a straightforward upgrade path to The Things Industries for enterprise-grade deployments.

The kit includes a 24V 0.8A power adapter, PoE injector, K-52 fastening set, desktop stand, ceiling mount bracket, metal ring, and a 0.35m 4-pin automotive adapter cable.
